ONE

Sleep

I cannot stress enough the importance of sleeping 7-9 hours every night. Your body and mind need to rest, especially if you have additional things to take care of – like planning a wedding! According to Heathline.comsleep is the time when your body repairs itself. This is true for your epidermis as much as it is for your brain or your muscles. During sleep, your skin’s blood flow increases, and the organ rebuilds its collagen and repairs damage from UV exposure, reducing wrinkles and age spots.”

TWO

Exercise

There are countless benefits to exercising regularly. One really profound effect is that exercising improves mental health. You’ll feel more positive, happier, and you’ll have more energy throughout the day due to the release of endorphins. Lastly, exercising will help you to sleep better. Win-win!

THREE

Eat healthy

We all love food, me included! In order to sustain a healthy body, we all need a balance of protein, fat, carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins, and minerals in our diets. The best way to go about getting what you need is by cooking your own meals so you can control portion sizes and ingredients. Another tip is to limit the amount of processed foods you eat (anything that comes in a box is likely highly processed). Another key here is moderation, as is the case with many things in life.

FOUR

Meditate

One of the most popular forms of meditation involves closing your eyes in complete silence and quieting your mind (which is actually difficult to do!). While this works for many people, you also can meditate in many different ways, including walking in nature, praying, chanting a mantra, doing yoga or riding a bicycle. Practicing meditation helps you to clear your mind, contemplate, concentrate, and be aware of your thoughts and feelings. To learn more about all the ways you can meditate, click here.

FIVE

Reiki

Try Reiki Healing. Reiki is one of our favorite energy healing tools that we use during our holistic wedding planning. Reiki helps you to relax, calm your mind and balance your energy chakras, which translates into feeling grounded and at peace.
