Morais Vineyards Winery wedding: Rosemary and Ben

Today’s blog post has been written by our very own Bodamaestra client, Rosemary Girard. Who could recount better a love story and the wedding day than the bride herself? I love the way she tells their story.  They are high school sweethearts that after 9 years together, celebrated their wedding among family and friends at Morais Vineyards and Winery.

Enjoy!

XO,

Esme

A little over 9 years after we first started dating, in front of our friends and family, Ben and I made official what we’d known and felt since the beginning. We had family and friends come from almost every region of the United States, as well as abroad from Mexico, France, and Spain. But, no matter the distance that everyone traveled, each person who took time out of their lives to witness our marriage touched our hearts equally.

It was a beautiful Friday in May, with gorgeous sunshine. There are some personal touches that won’t come through in the photos, so we’ll take the opportunity to list them here. Our ceremony was officiated by a high school counselor of mine and Ben’s, who so beautifully conveyed our journey together from high school through adulthood, as well as what makes me and Ben “us.” The string trio that played our ceremony music included Ben’s middle and high school orchestra teacher, as well as a classmate of his dating back to elementary school. The veil I wore was actually my mom’s, which made putting it on right before I walked down the aisle that much more special. The jade ring that I wore on my right hand is a family heirloom, and it’s been passed down through the women in my family on my Chinese side (my mom was also wearing one on her right hand). Our dinner was a tapas-style meal with Chinese and Mexican dishes to honor our heritages. The song we danced to for the first time as a married couple was “Bendita Tu Luz” by Mana. Oh, and my mom, Ben, and I did all of the florals!

Here is our wedding day in photographs. The talent of Lauren Taylor Photography made it hard for us to select the best ones to share (and, believe it or not, despite the tons of photos that follow, these don’t even include all of our favorites). We hope you enjoy them.

First look!

We loved the Mexican-Chinese fusion choices!
